DESCRIPTION:First Response is the minimum first aid requirement for volunteers in Scouting. It covers the skills and knowledge necessary to manage an incident and provide basic first aid. \nFirst Response has been designed to cover key medical emergencies and conditions relevant to Scouts and Girlguiding\, supporting members from Squirrels through to Adults. \nThe content is regularly reviewed based on current first aid practice and incident reporting to Headquarters to make sure it remains valid to the movement. First Response is a minimum requirement. For full details and to register\, please visit the original event page: https://scouts.scot/event/wild-adventure-days-4/ \nJoin us for our Wild Adventure Days which are available for all children from P1 – P7 (5 -12)\, whether your child is already a member of Scouts or not.\nBased on adventure\, fun & challenge\, our Wild Adventure days take place at our Scout Adventure Fordell Firs activity centre\, located on the outskirts of Dunfermline\, just five minutes from the new Queensferry crossing. \nWild Adventure Days Schedule\n6th\, 7th\, 8th\, 9th\, 10th\, 13th\, 14th\, 15th\, 16th\, 17th July 2026\nDrop off between 9:00am – 9:30am / Pick up between 4pm – 4:30pm \nWho can come?\nOpen to all\, aged 5-12.\nIf your child has any additional needs it is important that you call the centre to chat these through in more detail. For full details and to register\, please visit the original event page: https://scouts.scot/event/scotjam-explorers-2026/ \nCalling all Explorers! ScotJam Explorers is making a triumphant return to Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead this summer. Get ready for an even bigger and better adventure than ever before! \nWhat is the event all about?We’re taking things to the next level. We’ve got seven different week-long programmes that participants can choose from – each programme will lead to a different set of Badges at the end and most also lead to a National Governing Body award. This means that Explorers can choose their own adventure.Adventure Week: For those new to Explorers or who are unsure what to specialise in\, all your usual Lochgoilhead activity favourites but enhanced for this week. This could be sailing down to our bigger more challenging shoreside crag with brilliant views or a full mountain day on one of the surrounding scenic Arrochar Alps.Walking Expedition: This is ideal if you are looking to complete the expedition element of the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award or the Chief Scouts Diamond Award. You’ll start the week by planning your own expedition route\, set off on your chosen adventure and wrap up the expedition with a group debrief on Friday morning.Paddlesport Skills Week: We’ll focus on improving your paddling skills by introducing\, exploring\, and practicing simple strategies and safe techniques\, that will enable you to solve common paddling issues.Sail and Power Week: Over the course of the week\, you will work towards achieving the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 2 Award and the RYA Level 2 Powerboat Award.Hills and Rock Skills Week: Over the course of the week\, you will work towards gaining two Mountain Training awards. This week is ideal for anyone who wants to explore the hills and crags that surround Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead.Bushcraft Week: A much more chilled and relaxed week. Throughout the week you will have chance to develop your practical skills and try some different bushcraft techniques. You will also get chance to try out some different natural shelters.Younger Leader Training Week: What to develop your leaderships skills and make a difference in your local Scout Group? This immersive programme will equip you with essential skills through hands-on activities and challenges. Over the course of the week you’ll complete the learning for all modules within the Young Leaders’ Scheme.As part of our Promise to the Planet we’re encouraging Explorers to make use of their National Entitlement/ Young Scot Card and use public transport to get to Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead. We’ll be running shuttle buses from local bus stops and train stations. Further details will be shared after booking. \nWho can attend?The event is open to all Explorers.
