For full details and to register\, please visit the original event page: https://scouts.scot/event/build-yer-skills-2/ \nIntroducing the new Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead event: Build Yer Skills!This inaugural event is all about National Governing Body Training Courses. But not only that\, gaining new skills\, meeting other leaders from across the country and making the most of being outdoors. \nThere are six courses you can choose from for the weekend:Paddlesport Leader Training – British Canoeing Awarding Body Paddlesport Leader Training courses are available to support you in your development of the required skills. These courses typically cover leadership skills\, and the associated personal skills\, safety and rescue skills.Paddlesport Core Coach Training – The Core Coach Training is open to all paddlers regardless your discipline or previous coaching experience. During this course\, you will explore different approaches to understanding and enabling learning. You will also be supported in evolving your personal coaching development plan to enable you to take your learning into practice after the course.Climbing Wall Instructor Training – If you’re a keen climber or climbing permit holder then this course is the perfect next level for you! Ideal for: Climbing wall staff\, young people who’ve completed NICAS Level 4 or 5\, people who run climbing sessions on artificial walls or towers. As a Scout Leader\, if you are looking to take a group to a national climbing center/commercial wall then this is the pathway for you!Leave No Trace – Level 1 Instructor – This two-day course is designed for individuals who will be delivering Leave No Trace Workshops and Leave No Trace Skills Courses* in the future or embedding Leave No Trace in other programmes. Through short classroom discussions\, outdoor lectures and outdoor activities\, this course will cover the seven Leave No Trace principles and discuss outdoor ethics in the UK.RLSS National Water Safety Management – The National Water Safety Management Programme embraces contemporary approaches to risk management by balancing the need for simple pro-active safety management practices\, with a strong focus on preventative measures along with effective emergency response skills.REC Emergency Care Level 2 – The outdoor first aid course is designed to introduce a systematic way of first aid for managing casualties. Topic learning and practicals intermixed with scenarios of real situations. \nDatesThe event will take place from the 2nd – 4th October. SUMMARY:Meggernie Almost Haunted
DESCRIPTION:Please note: this is not a West Region event. For full details and to register\, please visit the original event page: https://scouts.scot/event/meggernie-almost-haunted/ \nWhat is it? – An Explorer event with a ghoulish twist!You should arrive on Friday night though the programme doesn’t begin until Saturday morning. Friday night will therefore be a chance to set up camp then chill out getting to know some of the other participants.Saturday will be packed with activities.A gentle start on Sunday morning followed by more activities before packing up and heading for home by 2pm.The camp is under canvas\, bring your own tents.The camp is fully catered starting with a light supper on Friday night and including lunch on Sunday.What does it cost? The cost of the event is £58 per person. This includes camp fees\, food\, activities but travel is not included.Places will be allocated on a first come basis.
